This is not a novel to be tossed aside lightly, it should be thrown with great force. -Dorothy Parker

Last April Portland had a beautiful early Spring.

Bear and I went to the pitch and putt at McMenamin's Edgefield.

and bummed around Portland with green tea in tow.

I made a Turkish style breakfast for us one morning.

(I have no idea if this is actually "Turkish", but I had a similar breakfast every morning I was in Turkey.)

I got a letter and some great books from Angie,

and I photoboothed in Astoria with bangs!

2 things

Happy May Day!

My May Day thus far has been super dreamy...sort of. Bear and I walked around downtown (we were devastated when Give Pizza a Chance was closed), went to Powells and rode the streetcar home. We were downtown to begin with because I had to go in to work, definitely not as fun. I wasn't there for long though, and now that I'm out I will banish it from my mind until Monday morning at 7 am :)

But that is off the subject. Today I am thinking of two things:

1. My new coat.

2. This camera:

queen of hearts

Here's a glimpse of the surprise I got in the mail this week.

It's minimarket and amazing!

a penny in your purse

I thrifted this young man about a year ago...

and he became an instant favorite. I love the deep caramel color, the structured shape, and the way it kind of looks like a brief case if I hold it by the top handle.

sometimes I steal

Staying home from work sick Monday I had time to take some pics.

First the daffodils bloom, and then Portland turns greeeeeen. The sun shines and its
warm for a few days, a week, and then the raiaiaiain begins again. Classic.

monday

Yesterday was beautiful and sunny and Spring! I was eating outside,

and wearing a dress,

but today I am inside on the computer in sweats staring melancholicly (word?) at the rain. To be fair the sweatpants are not the rain's fault, I am home sick and they just feel so good! But still.
Portland weather, you are a fickle fickle mistress.
